Support the Alaska-Yukon Expedition!

I have budgeted the Alaska-Yukon Expedition at about $10,000. I am fortunate to have several companies that have contributed product to the trip, which reduced the cost from what it would have been; but I am using personal funds to pay for all non-sponsored costs such as food, transportation, lodging, communication, technology, etc. I do not anticipate a funding-related halt to the expedition but certainly this is a big investment for someone who lives the meager existence that I do. I am certainly not to be pitied -- I am very happy with my decisions and I am gracious for the life experiences that I've had -- but I recognize that there are financial shortcomings to this "career." If you would like to support the Alaska-Yukon Expedition, I would ask you to consider taking one of the actions listed below. I greatly appreciate any support you can give me. -- Andrew

1. Purchase the Sierra High Route Mapset ($15) or the Hayduke Trail Hiking Resources Bundle ($35). Both of these routes are spectacular, and these resources will save you time & money while preparing for them and will enhance your safety while hiking them.

2. Book Skurka as a speaker for your organization or event, or consider organizing an event at which he will present. If Skurka finishes the AYE as expected in early-October, he can schedule events as early as November 2010.

3. Hire Skurka as an instructor/guide on a custom backcountry trip for you or a group. He expects to have good availability in 2011 for guided trips because he will not be going on another major personal trip next year.

4. Make a donation. Checks can be sent to: Andrew Skurka, 51 Donald Lewis Drive, Seekonk, MA 02771. Or you can make a secure donation through PayPal, below. Contributions are not tax-deductible, as I am not registered as a 501(c)(3) organization.
