Montana's Rockies - Part I

Very excited to have arrived at Glacier, still probably my most favorite National Park.

A few of the high peaks catch the sun's last rays, as seen from below Brown Pass (and far above Bowman Lake).

Bowman Lake, one of the Park's many glacier-scoured finger-shaped lakes.

A full moon from Hole-in-the Wall Campground, without a doubt probably the most perfectly located designated campsite in the entire park.

Thunderbird Fall as seen from Brown Pass Trail.

I struggle when backpacking through the National Parks, where I meet lots of new backpackers, almost all of whom are still lugging massive mobile homes on their backs. This Boulder, CO-based trio was an exception.

The Cattle Queen drainage, which early in the season can pose a real snow hazard for hikers.
