Welcome to the Icebox!
It's 11 AM and the temperature finally "warmed up" to above 0 degrees F. Add in 1-2 inches of fresh snow and a nighttime low temperature of somewhere around -15 F, and it's easy to understand why northern Minoesta truly is "the Nation's Icebox."

Vicarious Border Route Trail experience
Moose tracks, blowdowns, overgrown willows, and snow-loaded balsam firs -- the Border Route Trail is NOT an easy stroll in the park. Watch your step, especially when you're filming, becuase it's really easy to trip over yourself in those snowshoes! And, contrary to what I said, it DOES continue -- basically for the entire 65 miles of the trail.
