About the Pacific Crest Trail

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a 2,650-mile continuous footpath along the Sierra Nevada and Cascades through California, Oregon, and Washington. Its southern terminus is the Mexican border near Campo, CA; its northern terminus is the Canadian border at Monument 78, a few miles south of Hwy 3 in Manning Provincial Park.

The PCT trail corridor travels through a range of ecosystems: low and high deserts, artic and high-alpine zones, and even rainforests. It passes through (or by) well known landmarks like: the Mojave Desert, Mt. Whitney, Yosemite National Park, Mt. Shasta and Mt. Hood, Crater Lake, the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Ranier, and North Cascades National Park.
